EPA EuroCup

The Ship Inn won their first round match in the EPA EuroCup competition against City of Bath in November, and have effectively received a bye in the next round as both of our possible opponents have declined to take part in the competition.

We are currently waiting to hear who our next opponents, from either Devon or Cornwall, will be.

To qualify to play members must hold a current EPA player licence. Please contact Richard Simon for further information.

Club Kit

Any members interested in purchasing caps, body warmers, fleeces, sweatshirts or polos in the conventional black or, for next season, polo shirts in white with blue embroidery, please let Alan Hulme know, as he is placing an order in the next couple of weeks.

Visit to France

We are again planning to visit our friends in La Riviere St Sauveur over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May next year, and we would like to know how many members are interested in taking part.

Please let Ann know as soon as possible if you are interested, so that we can begin to make the necessary arrangements.

Ship Inn Petanque Club AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the club will be held on Thursday 14 January 2010 commencing at 7.30 pm.

As the Ship Inn is not available to hold a pre-Christmas buffet evening this year, the Committee has decided to combine the AGM with a get-together in January. The venue is Compton Dando Village Hall, and the meeting will be followed by an American supper.

As you are all probably aware, Bill has decided to retire as Chairman of the club for health reasons, and Ray has also decided not to stand for re-election this year.

Ann (as Treasurer) and Joy (as Committee member) are both due for re-election, and are both happy to stand again.

Any member wishing to stand for any available positions on the committee, should please notify Richard Simon by 31 December.
